More on the O'Malley (Education) Press Blitz...
... As seen elsewhere, (thanks, Brian!) the O'Guv is up to something concerning higher education. Is he trying to take it away from Nancy Grasmick, or just emphasizing the workforce aspect of the department of "Labor, Licensing and Regulation"?

GOVERNOR O’MALLEY TO PROMOTE EFFORTS TO IMPROVE MARYLAND’S WORKFORCE
Initiatives to Enhance Workforce Creation, Help Small Businesses by Creating Jobs, and Expand Opportunity for Middle Class
ANNAPOLIS, MD (February 5, 2008) – Governor Martin O’Malley will participate in a number of events over the next two weeks protect and improve Maryland’ workforce. Beginning tomorrow, Governor O’Malley will begin to highlight ongoing efforts expand opportunities for Maryland’s families and improve our State’s efforts to provide life-learning opportunities.
Tomorrow, Governor O’Malley will be joined six of his Cabinet members in Anne Arundel County to highlight current, ongoing and future efforts to build a comprehensive workforce creation system to secure Maryland’s position in an increasingly competitive global economy.
Governor O’Malley will hold a press conference on Thursday in Baltimore County focusing on our State’s nursing shortage. And on Friday, Governor O’Malley will be in Howard County to host a Workforce Creation Summit bringing together over 500 community and business leaders to focus efforts on improving our State’s workforce.
On Monday, February 11, the Governor will meet with his P-20 Leadership Council in Annapolis. The Governor created the P-20 Leadership Council to better align our educational system with workforce goals and ensure that Maryland is preparing students, from pre-K through post-secondary studies, for the jobs of the 21st Century.
