Non-US politics...
Venezuela and Russia face very important elections with world-wide consequences.
With Hugo Chavez threatening to restrict oil from the US, at least protesters were allowed to come out against him and his attempt to become officially the dictator he almost is now. "United Russia", the Putin-Party, seems on the verge of keeping the Ex-KGB agent in power, even if he changes the title he'll hold. Neither country seems very friendly to the US. Assuming the elections are fair, an assumption that is very presumptuous, their outcome could lead either (or both) countries towards freedom, or away from it. Their impact here at home could be huge. We gotta keep our eyes on these countries with care.
