Will MOM start Flogging the so-called "rich"??

With the nanny-state saying it should take care of every need, and tax the wealthy to do it (they never like to admit that they are taxing the middle-class), what about private charity?  Could higher taxes reduce the amount donated to other groups who do good for society, making the state the only game in town as far as compassion goes?  Could such liberal ideas be a kind of Sharia Law?  Read here about the Sharia wealth tax in the Nigerian state...

That happens when the State takes on roles it is not intended to have, and the compassionate neighbors (who can do a much better job of distributing the donations to the local community where they are really needed) are left out.
