When Martin O'Malley came to the throne, he blamed the previous administration, and promised changes.
We got Glendenning re-treads and his own "one Maryland" logo. And the economy is in the tank.
Barack Hussein Obama has been riding the Blame Bush Express to victory, promising "Change We Can Believe In".
We are getting somewhat of a re-run of the Clinton Administration, including a Clinton herself, and a new Obama-logo as well. The Economy can't even find the tank to get in, and his policies would even make it worse.
To all those defeated Conservatives that say "I wish him well, for the sake of the country" I say "Bull"! I do not wish him and his evil policies well at all, I hope they can somehow be defeated. Those that pass I hope fail so much that such poppycock ideas are never considered again, but just short of totally destroying the nation. That would be for the good of the country. If his policies succeed in being implemented, and succeed in results in the short term, we may never get rid of them in the long term, for the good of the country.
We are supposed to pray for our leaders. Is it acceptable to pray for their conversion, and barring that, for their utter defeat and failure... for the good of the country and in Christian love, of course?!
While the argument can be made that Conservatives in Maryland won't have their vote counted electorally, do so anyway. If the worse fears are realized, and the country chooses a socialistic, unvetted, untried, hopelessly leftist, big-government type tomorrow, it will not begin the countdown to the end on January 20th. The end will have already happened. The most extreme worries about what a mess an Obama Administration will be, are nothing compared to an even greater danger. We will have allowed this country, which once was proud and free, to be peacefully handed over because we have already allowed our society to be transformed into one that does not think, but buys the hype.
We should have free debate and elections over the best way to implement policies, but the policies should be unanimously founded on our first-principles as a free people. I'm afraid that time, if not already past, is soon fading.
Obama has promised change... his change is something we just cannot afford. I do not know how we will be able to legally thwart that change, but we must find ways of doing so. I hope the Bradley Effect (which is NOT racist, just a fear of being Wrongly Called a racist) and other factors serve to restore a sense of sanity to the decision tomorrow.
I Hope & Pray for a positive outcome, but if it does not happen, we must be on our guard. Some haters will stop at nothing to squash us into oblivion like bugs. We will have to be the cockroaches, that survive their worst efforts and live to bug them another day. Sorry to be such a Gloomy Gus, but here's hoping we will still have a country tomorrow night at this time.
Another commenter on another blog (not me) quoted these words from another Republican. They are appropriate...
"At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it? Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. At what point, then, is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide. Abraham Lincoln- January 27, 1838
Don't be suicidal, and let's not sell the Socialists the rope they will use to hang us.
Vote Once... but Pray Constantly!
Word from the Anne Arundel County Fair was good last night. On a traditionally slow dayforthe fair, it was reportedly a busy time for voter registration at the GOP booth. The Dems side seemed quiet and there were quite a lot of McCain/Palin materials given out. People would leave yard signs while riding the rides, then pick them up and carrythem around. Few Obama signs were seen. Come out to the fair and encourage the volunteers... Wear your candidate materials around the grounds.
First up, here's an Iraqi war veteran with a message for Obama. Watch 'til the very end.
Next, someone takes Barry to school (Economics 101).
Dis Conservative Women at your own Peril! They stand up and say "I am Sarah Palin"!
Like a lot of others, I am smitten with Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin's addition to the Presidential ticket. Like many of us, I have gone from a reluctant "hold your nose and vote for McCain" to an enthusiastic supporter. Conservatives were worried about the trial balloons hinting that a pro-choicer like Ridge might be tapped for the VP slot. Sarah Baracuda seems like an almost perfect choice. Tough, strong, and not afraid to shake up her own party.
That very thing could be a problem... not for us in the lower 49, but for those in her beloved Alaska. While I am thrilled about the possibility of her bringing her skills to us in Washington, what will happen to our northernmost state?
Sarah Palin and her Lt. Governor Sean Parnell are a team, and while Sarah has assured Alaskans that she will be able to multi-task enough to remain Governor, raise a family, and run with John McCain for the next two months, what happens if they win?
With two more years left in her Governorship, you'd expect that Mr. Parnell would step in as Governor. However, Mrs. Palin encouraged her Lt. Gov. to run against another incumbant Republican, Don Young , for the office of Alaska's lone Congressman. At this time it is a close race, with absentee ballots remaining to be gathered and tabulated in the Alaskan primary. If Parnell wins the primary, and loses the general election, he still has his Lt. Governorship (which could become a Governorship). If he wins both, what does he do?
He could stay as the new Governor (assuming the Palin/McCain ticket wins nationally). Then would the non-reformer Young (or a Dem) get the Congressional post? He could go to Washington, but who would be interim Governor? That would fall to the state's Attorney General, Talis Colberg. Mr. Colberg is a Palin appointee, so perhaps he is a reformer as well. After Palin leaves the Governorship, and Parnell goes to Washington to serve in Congress, there would have to be a special election in 90 days.
With two reformer Republicans potentially moving to D.C., would there be a vacuum in Alaskan politics that the Democrats would seize? Would those deposed Republican good old boys the Palin/Parnell team kicked out of power swoop in and fill the vacancies?
While Sarah Palin has an 80% approval rating in her home state (something Martin O'Malley could not dream of ever having), she got there by kicking some butt. Those with these sore posteriors may not be able to take the opportunity sitting down. When she blew the whistle, she did so on people who may want to undo the good she has done. I can only hope, for the sake of the fine people of Alaska, that those 80% of the voters will not let that happen. For their sake, may there be enough other strong reformers that can take up that mantle.
The image of the tough, self-reliant Alaskan is not just an image, many of them are really like that. When you deal with snow, ice, below-freezing temperatures, and a rugged environment on a daily basis, you just have to be. That forges people with character, people that can take on anything they need to, wheather it's a bear... the media... or too-comfy politicians in either Washington or Juneau.
Sarah Palin's rise in prominence has not just triggered a shake-up on the national political scene, reverberations of it may fall to the locals throughout the great state of Alaska.
When Barry & Biden went to Battle Creek, Michigan recently, a box of frosted flakes appeared with their pictures on it, and Tony the Tiger proclaiming "There're Great!!". I was not amused. I let them know that.
Below is their excuse response, do you buy it, or are they just flakes?...
Mr. Peake,
Thank you for contacting us about the Kellogg Frosted Flakes® package you saw featuring a picture of Democratic candidates Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
The candidates made a campaign stop in Battle Creek over Labor Day weekend. The Michigan State Democratic Party requested that a cereal box with their image be presented to them. If asked, we would do the same for John McCain and Sarah Palin. Kellogg Company does not endorse political candidates.
Through the years when dignitaries and celebrities have visited Battle Creek, special packages have been made as a memento of their visit to "The Cereal City." In fact, these packages are so popular that they are offered to the general public at The Kellogg's Store at http://www.kelloggstore.com/.
We are sorry that this package was upsetting to you. We hope you will continue to enjoy and purchase our products.
Sincerely,
Alex Grijalva

Hmm... they say they do this for other "dignitaries and celebrities".
So that explains it! How very elite of them!
Diddy (does he use the P. anymore?) gets all
"tourettes-syndrome" on Bush in a foul
video that is NSFW.
He blasts Sarah Palin and Alaska. He even claims there are no black people in Alaska.
Well, there is a response to that here...
This guy "Macho" (otherwise known as "Zo") is great!
Addendum: I've looked at more of his videos...
and I think I have a new favorite comedian.
"Macho for Secretary of Humor"!!
Dear Sarah:
I know you are aware, and I hope your family was as well, about how evil and ruthless some people can be in the dirty side of politics. You seem like a tough lady who can handle it, and perhaps that is why we need someone like you in the halls of power if we are ever to restore the notion of statesmanship and redeem public service as a noble profession. Just like you have seen in your home state of Alaska, there are people with axes to grind who will stop at nothing to destoy those not on their side of the aisle... and sometimes even those in their own party (Re: Hillary's treatment by the Obamamaniacs).
I know and have seen the dirty side of politics, and it tarnishes the (unfortunately few) good public servants who are in it for all the right reasons. The good ones do exist, I have seen a few of them as well. I am impressed that many bloggers, some in your state, are coming to your defense. As far as that so-called "Troopergate" non-issue, if a cop was threatening my family I'd want him more than fired. Such scum tarnishes the good name of the majority of the brave, hard-working police officers.
Don't let the dumbarses denigrate small towns or regular folks, they do so at their peril. Don't let the a-holes question your parenting, your life-affirming decision to carry a lovely downs syndrome child to term, or that ridiculous notion that you lack "experience", especially when you look at the top of the Dems ticket. News Flash- Every holder of the top job at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave gets on-the-job experience. It is not a job that any mere human can truly handle, without a lifetime of real-world experiences, coupled with tons of prayer, and a little thing called character.
I know when the attacks go after your family, that is the lowest blow possible and shows their desperation and fear of your success. I hope your family is also as tough as you, and will insist you soldier-on. We need you to do so, but you need their support to know that the effort is in their best interest as well.
Todd: Everything I have been able to learn about you shows you to be so much more than the stereotypical Alaskan Man. Yes, you are a man's man, a fisherman, snow machine racer, and work the oil fields, in addition to being blessed with rugged good looks. I guess you needed all that to win the heart of that fiesty beauty contestant! Lucky dude! Maybe that's why you are attacked, those other guys are so darn jealous! High Fives to you! (so much better than an Obama-like fist-bump)!
Oh, they'll try to paint you as an unwashed, uneducated rural yahoo... then try to convince people that you are secretly running the state. They will go to either extreme if it suits their shoddy purposes. Again, they do that at their peril, not only could you kick their arse (please don't- they will sue), but they risk alienating plenty of hard-working blue-collar men, and women, across the country. Don't sweat not having a college diploma, sometimes they are not worth the paper they are printed on. I'd choose regular-folks wisdom over degree-learnin' any day!
You seem like a confident man, assured in your own masculinity. The great thing is you are assured enough in your own skin to help your beloved wife in realizing her dreams for public service. In that sense, you are a modern man, not afraid to help raise the kids! A modern man, but with brawn. Sarah may run the state, but you are the man of the house.
For the kids: First of all, don't let anyone make fun of your names, they are actually quite kewl, and as unique as each of you! Be glad you don't have boring names!
Track: I cannot begin to tell you how grateful we are as Americans that you chose to serve your country in the U.S. Army. I hope the press will not endanger you or (like in England with Prince Harry) cause you to not be able to serve fully. I'm sure you don't want special treatment, but just to be allowed to serve like your collegues. Fight hard, but return home to your Mom and Dad!
Piper & Willow: You may not have been abused by the media and other hateful people yet, but be alert that it may happen. Be strong, and tell your parents honestly about any fears you may have. Don't be afraid to tell them what's on your mind.
Trig: Dear, dear Trig... do not let anyone ever tell you that your life is not worthy to be lived. You may not be exactly like other kids, but in your Mom & Dad's eyes, you are loved and cherished so very much! How sad that other special kids like you never are given the chance to live. You have been given life, enjoy every moment, I know your folks will enjoy you!
Bristol: Don't let idiots look down on you for your situation... though of course having sex outside of marriage is indeed a sin, it is not a "worse" sin than any other, and we all sin and fall short of God's Glory. That's where forgiveness and salvation comes in. The fact that you have chosen to bring this little child into the world, as hard as that is, and have not taken the so-called "easy" way out, is what speaks to your character now. Yes, it will be hard, but with your fine family, it will be worth it. Your folks are right, you will grow up quickly now. All the best to you!
Hey, Levi: What can I say man? Sure, you didn't want kids at this time of your life, what young guy does? Well, I take that back, some playas like to knock up the ladies and leave them, but I do not think that is you. You were dating this girl, raging hormones took over, and the next thing you know... Ya done messed up, dude... but you are doing the very hard, and responsible thing, in the public eye and with all the hard work that entails. You will need the same dedication you have for your beloved hockey to make this work. It may be hard, but it can happen. But you are not alone. The Palin family is welcoming you into theirs, and they seem as tough as you.
If you really, really love this girl... with a lot of help, prayer, and forgiveness, you two can actually have a good life together. And don't take no "stuff" from those who would dis your redneck, kick arse attitude. You might just need that.
Man, the more I think about it the more I see how similar you and Todd are. I know you are an individual with your own thought, wants, and needs. At the risk of perpetrating the stereotype, is it true that all Alaskan men are are such? Yeah, a Man you are fast becoming, embrace it! I'm sure that once you look into the eyes of your son or daughter, you'll want to cherish them and love them forever.
Future Johnston Kid: WoW! Who'd a thunk it, that you would be subject to all this malarkey even before you are born! With your genes, I have no doubt you can handle just about everything! You Family will help you every step of the way!
So there you have it... Palins (and the future Johnston family)...
You are a fine kick-butt group, and any who would cross you better watch out... you probably don't need it, but we've got your back!
